Tammo,

when we evaluated ODE 2.0-beta2 we found that the JBI integration layer was missing some functionality that must have got lost during the major refactoring someone did on this part of ODE. We raised this issue on JIRA and Mathieu Riou was so kind to provide a patch that seems to solve the problem. However, as far as we know there's no "next beta" in sight that includes this patch and that we could take and shove through the Eclipse IP machinery.
In general, we have some concerns about the frequency of releases in ODE. I remember someone (Guillaume Nodet?) saying that ODE 2.0 won't happen before mid of 2010 which is still one year ahead.
If you feel that you could help us get things moving faster, that would be greatly appreciated! We're willing to get more deeply involved, provide patches etc., but we need to get the feeling that our contributions are actually welcome and lead to something that we can use within an Eclipse project (preferably an official release).

Cheers,
Oliver

Thanks for the clarification. Could you elaborate on the missing functionality? I'm currently not aware of any. Anyway, we gratefully accept patches for ODE :)

This is right, but this beta releases misses functionality required for Eclipse SOA. We therefore decided to use the previous version, but the previous version is not approved by the Eclipse IP team. So we wait until the gap in the next release is closed.

As far as I know Apache ODE 2.0-beta2 has been approved by the Eclipse's IP team (http://markmail.org/message/cpn2zp544ufk6owl), so actually it should be possible to bundle it with your packages.
